At GTD Marine, we work to develop new technology solutions to make boating better, affordable, easier and more fun.

As part of the Global Technology Dormitory Group, challenging the conventional is our normal.

GTD Group is working on projects in construction, renewable energy, safety and marine.

New from GTD Marine, Marine SideJets bow and stern thruster systems are a game-changer in marine engineering, reducing operational costs and delivering vessel control while being kinder to the environment.

Marine Thruster Systems

Now including our new outboard or outdrive mounted SidePod

Why Choose GTD Marine SideJets or SidePod?

  • Superior Performance & Control
Marine SideJets and SidePods deliver the same thrust and manoeuvrability as traditional thrusters—but operate much more quietly and with minimal water disturbance. Our new SidePod mounts above the cavitation plate of any outboard or outdrive using a simple clamp. Absolutely no modification or drilling of holes required. Remove the SidePod and you would never know it was there.

  • Simple Installation
Designed for easy DIY or professional installation:

    • Skin fittings for SideJets go below the waterline with a built-in 10° downward angle.

    • Drilling holes in the hull for the skin fittings is typically the main task.

    • SidePods need one small hole, typically up under the bathing platform, for the cable to enter the boat. An extended gland is supplied.

    • Electrical setup is straightforward: just connect to the battery bank and the Victron to the boat’s 12v system.

    • Clear instructions are provided, plus support from our technical team.

    • SideJets are 48v and the SidePods are 24v. The batteries and charger (Victron is recommended) are not included.

  • Affordable Accessories

    • Hoses are not included but are inexpensive.

    • We’ll provide a recommended purchase list for chargers and batteries.

  • Convenient Wireless Control

    • Comes with two waterproof handheld wireless controllers. Use one as a backup or share with a crew member.

    • Combined controller for bow and stern installations.

    • Includes a clip-in bracket for dash mounting.

  • Low Maintenance

    • All SideJets machinery is installed inside the boat, above the waterline. SidePods can be lifted clear by trimming the leg up.

    • SideJets freshwater flush and drain after use helps prevent corrosion. Turn on the tap for 2 minutes after use.

    • The SideJets unit can be removed in minutes—even while the boat is still in the water—saving on lift-out costs.

  • Cost-Effective

    • Marine SideJets and SidePod systems cost about half as much as traditional systems.

    • Much easier installation.

    • Offers excellent value without sacrificing performance.

  • Reliable Warranty & Support

    • If there’s an issue, we’ll send a replacement overnight (UK only).

    • Swap the unit and return the old one using our prepaid courier service.

    • Even while travelling, you’ll be back on the water quickly. Conditions apply.

Founder & CEO, Steve Jordan

“I wanted to install a bow thruster on my 28 foot speedboat so that it was easier for friends and family to use, but I was really shocked at the cost.

Working in a business that is all about driving innovation in engineering, I couldn’t help myself. I knew there must be a more effective way of shifting mass from one side of the boat to the other to develop the desired force!

And while we are at it we must make it easier to install, easier to maintain and much more affordable.”

…easier installation

…lower maintenance

…quieter operation

…kinder to the environment

…better value for money
